Like other States of the Federation, the administrative structure of the state is three – tiered:- State, Local and Autonomous community levels.

At the State level, it is composed of three arms –

The Executive
The Legislature
The Judiciary

An elected Governor, His Excellency, Chief Dr. Ikedi Ihakim, who is assisted by a Deputy Governor, Her Excellency, Chief (Mrs.) Ada Okwuonu, 15 Commissioners, Special Advisers and Executive Assistants.
