LG administrators advised to take role
Imo State Deputy Governor Dr. Ada Okwuonu has again expressed her determination to continue to identify with programmes and aspiration geared towards the upliftment of the church.

She stated this while speaking at the thanksgiving service to mark the enthronement of the 3rd Bishop and send forth of the retiring Bishop of the Mbaise Anglican Dioceses held at the Cathedral church of St. Michaels and All Angles Ife, Ezinihitte Mbaise.

The Deputy Governor expressed gratitude to God for the ten years dedicated service of the retiring Bishop Rt. Rev. Bright Ogu.

She was particularly happy that the New Bishop, Rt. Rev. Ogunedo was divinely chosen by God and called on the people to support him to achieve desired goals of the church.

In his remarks, the chief WIP at the National assemble and member representing Ezinihitte and Ngor Okpala, Chief Emeka Iheohioha expressed satisfaction that Bishop Ogu contributed in uplifting the status of the diocese both evangelism and social development of the diocese and called on the New Bishop to improve on the legacies.

In their separate remarks, the chancellor of the diocese, chief Bon Nwakama and Dr. Bede Nzenwa, noted with satisfaction the contributions made by some prominent sons and daughters of the area especially the Deputy Governor that had assisted in the development of the church and urged them to extend the same support to the new Bishop.

In his sermon after being enthroned, Bishop Ogunedo challenged Christians to do away with all forms of evil that hinder the progress and development of the church.

Bishop Ogunedo reminded them that whatever position God has put one is to work to the glory of God and called on the clergy and laity of the diocese to apply father and child relationship in carrying out the work of God in the diocese.

The enthronement service was well attended by the Anglican Bishop of Aba, Enugu Orlu, the Niger Delta, political appointees and other top Govt. official.
