Job Opportunity in the State
These points were made by the state chairman, Civil Service Commission, Chief Robert Asuzu, while addressing a section of the press in his office at the port-harcourt road state secretariat, last week wednesday.
The chairman confirmed that his commission has stated inviting the successful candidates that scored 40% and above for the 2nd test and that they are starting with the administrative cadre, who are presently filling their forms now while the second test will commence from 2nd of August after which they will take up another cadre, till they get the required number of candidates.
He maintained that the commission will use merits as its bedrock, and that the essence of the 2nd test was to confirm that the candidates had the scores attached to their names and that whoever that scales through that stage, will now be issued with a letter of employment by the commission.
Chief Asuzu, further confirmed that 10,000 candidates will be recruited. 5,000 will be sent to the civil service, while the remaining 5,000, will be sent to teaching between the State Education Management Board (SEMB), and State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), who will share them 2,500 candidates each.
He revealed that arrangements have been made for testing candidates for the other cadres which will come up, after the administrative cadre has been done, with and emphasis once again that the recruitment exercise, will be free and fair, and based solely on merit.
The Chairman pointed out that early in the year, when the Governor announced this excercise, so many people could not believe it, but now it has become very obvious that the reality is out with what is happening. He used the opportunity to urge Imo citizens, to rally round the Governor and his programmes, to help Imo people benefit from the present democracy.
He also warned that any staff that will in any way extort money from unsuspecting candidates, that the law will face whoever that tries it, because the exercise is free.
