OHAKIM TO DELIVER AKA IKENGA LECTURE

Governor Ikedi Ohakim of Imo State will tomorrow be the guest speaker of the Aka Ikenga maiden lecture on Leadership and Good Governance.

He will speak on the theme “Leadership and Good Governance. Any stake for Nd’Igbo in Nigeria”, While Profs. Pat Utomi, Alponsu Nwosu and Barth Nnaji will be the discussants at the lecture.

Billed to hold at the Nigerian Institution of International Affairs (NIIA) in Victoria Island, Lagos under the chairmanship of Senator Ike Nwachukwu, the speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Dimeji Bankole, former governor of Lagos State, Senator Bola Tinubu and his successor Governor Babatunde Fashola would be special guest of honour, and Chief host respectively at the maiden lecture.

The Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu and Eze Cletus IIomuanya would be the royal father of the day. According to a statement jointly signed by the president of Aka Ikenga and chairman, organising committee, Hon, Chris Asoluka and Prof. Pat Utomi, the essence of the lecture and a dinner that would follow later the same day is to promote conversation between policy makers and civil society for the sustenance and delivery of democracy dividends in the country.

“It will not only provide a platform for mutual exchanges but also will be used to recognise and honour distinguished Igbo Sons, daughters and friends” the statement noted.
